Bandits shoot dead 18-year-old herder
An 18-year-old herder was shot dead at Kafigana in Jebu District of Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State September 26.
The State Chairman of Gan Allah Fulani Development Association of Nigeria (GAFDAN), Garba Abdullahi Muhammed confirmed the development to the Daily Trust.
“He was just going about his grazing when the gunmen stormed the area and shot him dead. They shot him in the neck,” he said.
Fulani and Irigwe ethnic groups often blamed each other for the several attacks and killings in the villages of Bassa LGA.
According to him, more than 20 heads of cattle were killed just this month.
“We have already informed the Divisional Police Headquarters in Bassa. We call on security to call to order those perpetrating this kind of act. We cannot just be killed without any protection,” the chairman added.
The state police command spokesperson, Ubah Gabriel, confirmed the incident.
He said investigation was ongoing to arrest the perpetrators of the attack.
