Bayelsa 2019: APC humiliates Gov Dickson, wins governorship election

The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Saturday humiliated Governor Seriake Dickson who imposed the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the November 16 governorship election in Bayelsa State. The APC won the election with wide margin, leaving the Bayelsa PDP and its candidate crawling behind with shocking defeat in a state always claimed to be PDP state.

The result announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) shows that APC had a total vote of 352,552 to defeat the PDP which had 143,172 votes.

Detailed results from the 6 local governments indicated that in Ekeremor LGA APC had 21,489 votes while PDP had 18,344 votes: in Nembe APC 123,803, PDP 4,898 votes; in Sagbama APC 7831 while PDP had 60339; another Nembe LG APC 83041, PDP 874; Kolokuma/Opokuma LG, APC 8934, PDP 15369; Brass LG, APC 23831, PDP 10410; Yenogoa LG, APC 24607, PDP 19184 votes.

The announcement of results of the governorship election in Kogi State will continue on Monday.
