Brothers, friend caught after successful robbery
Three brothers and their friend carrying out series of robberies in Ijebu-Ode area of Ogun, have been arrested.
Abimbola Oyeyemi, Ogun PPRO, identified the three brothers as Hammed Jagbojagbo, Idris Jagbojagbo and Tobi Jagbojagbo, while their accomplice was named Tosin Ogundeko.
Oyeyemi said the arrest followed a distress call received at Igbeba divisional headquarters about some armed robbers invading a Premier Lotto agent’s shop at the Odi Olowo, Ijebu Ode.The criminals got N90,000 from the shakedown.
“The robbers also snatched a Bajaj motorcycle belonging to one Clement Conleth,” Oyeyemi stated.
The DPO of Igbeba division, CSP Musiliu Doga, immediately led his patrol team to the scene, ”gave the robbers a hot chase and succeeded in arresting one of them, Tosin Ogundeko from whom the Bajaj motorcycle was recovered.”
According to Oyeyemi, Ogundeko later led detectives to their hideout at Epe, Lagos, where the three brothers were nabbed.
However, one of the suspects, Tosin (a.k.a Socket) escaped.
“On interrogation, the suspects confessed to being responsible for various motorcycle snatching operations in Ijebu-Ode and its environs.
“They confessed further that they are all based in Epe, but chose ijebu ode as their area of operation,” Oyeyemi said.
One locally made gun and one Bajaj motorcycle were recovered from the suspects.
Ogun Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole, has ordered the transfer of the suspects to the State CIID for discreet investigation, directing a manhunt for the fleeing members of the gang.
