“Lagos never sleeps but it remembers everything. I watched him scream when others whispered,” he said in the teaser narration.
The media personality added that some individuals leave lasting marks on society, describing the memoir as a reflection of rebellion, courage, and personal evolution.
According to Charly Boy, the memoir will be officially unveiled in Lagos on July 31, with a foreword reportedly written by former Nigerian president Olusegun Obasanjo.
Speaking to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Charly Boy described the project as more than a conventional autobiography.
“This book is not a biography. It’s a battleground. The ugly, the bad and the very good,” he said.
The septuagenarian explained that the memoir documents his personal experiences, convictions, controversies, and decades-long effort to challenge societal norms and political hypocrisy in Nigeria.
Known for his outspoken activism and unconventional public image, Charly Boy said the book would “strip away the CharlyBoy myth” and reveal the man behind the persona.
For more than four decades, Charly Boy has remained one of Nigeria’s most controversial entertainment and socio-political figures, using his platform to address issues ranging from governance to youth identity and social justice.
