Children, Plateaus’ greatest treasure says Mutfwang

Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has extended warm congratulations to children across the state on the occasion of the 2025 Children’s Day celebration, affectionately describing them as “the greatest treasure of the state.”
Mutfwang conveyed his goodwill message in a statement signed by his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Mr. Gyang Bere, on Tuesday in Jos. National Daily Newspaper reports that the theme for this year’s Children’s Day Celebration is “Stand Up, Speak Up: Building a Bullying-Free Generation.”
“The theme of this year’s celebration is timely and thought-provoking. Beyond the vast natural and mineral resources in Plateau, these children are the untapped treasures with immense potential to drive the future of Plateau and Nigeria.”
Governor Mutfwang, who joined millions across the globe in celebrating the day, reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to the welfare, protection, and holistic development of children in Plateau State.
He emphasized the theme’s significance, stating that while Plateau is rich in natural and mineral resources, its children represent “untapped treasures with immense potential to drive the future of Plateau and Nigeria.”
The Governor further stressed that for children to truly blossom, they must be supported with access to quality education, comprehensive healthcare, a safe environment, and the right moral values.

He highlighted that his administration is dedicated to inclusive governance that actively promotes the voice and participation of young people in shaping their future, pointing to ongoing reforms in the education sector and the implementation of numerous child-friendly policies.

Governor Mutfwang also called upon parents, teachers, community leaders, and all stakeholders to play active and crucial roles in nurturing the dreams and talents of children. He urged them to instill values that promote peace, unity, innovation, and resilience.
Concluding his message, Mutfwang offered prayers for divine protection over all Plateau children, reaffirming his administration’s dedication to building a brighter and more inclusive future for them.
