CJN enjoins judges to adopt judicial infotech policy in their duties

The Acting Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Tanko Mohammed, at the opening ceremony of the 2019 roundtable for heads of courts, in Abuja on Monday, enjoined judges, heads of courts and the Nigerian judiciary to aspire to implement the guidelines provided by the judicial information technology policy in performing their judicial functions.
Justice Tanko, represented by the President of the National Industrial Court of Nigeria, Babatunde Adejumo, at the opening ceremony of the 2019 roundtable for heads of courts in Abuja on Monday, remarked that the adoption of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has radically altered the channels and methods of human interaction; adding that, therefore, there is the need for the Nigerian legal jurisprudence to keep up with the advancements in the globalized world.
Justice Bozimo, who was also in attendance, encouraged the heads of courts to establish a clear vision and remain relevant in the ever-changing judicial landscape as the courts must be excellent, speedy and just in their decisions, which should be devoid of any external influence or compromise.
Also in attendance were justices and heads of courts from various parts of the country. The forum will wind up in three days’ time.
