D.G. of APC Governors Forum resigns
The Director-General of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF), Salihu Lukman, on Monday resigned from office. The D.G. submitted his letter of resignation to the Chairman of the Progressives Governors Forum, Governor Abubakar Bagudu, of Kebbi State on Monday after the APC governors had met in Abuja on Sunday on the controversial national convention of the party.
Lukman has been torn in the flesh of the APC governors and other party leaders because of the controversies over the suspicion that the national convention for the election of members of the APC National Working Committee (NWC) may be postponed from the proposed February schedule. The PGF D.G. has been confronting the Chairman of the APC Caretaker and Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, Governor Mala Buni of Yobe State over perceived plans to postpone the national convention.
APC governors had, however, at a meeting at the Kebbi Governors Lodge in Abuja on Sunday, resolved that the convention will hold as scheduled.
