Desert Stars set to resume July 1st
The management of Yobe Desert Stars Football Club,Damaturu has announced that the resumption date of the club still stands as 1st of July 2018,National Daily learnt.
The Damaturu based club embarked on two weeks break due to the FIFA world cup currently going on in Russia.
Speaking in Damaturu to the club media department *Desert Stars Media* general manager of the club Abdulrahaman Ago said that “the players are expected to report to the Minna camp on Friday 30th and July 1 of June”
Proper training will commence at the team training ground on Monday 3rd of July as the Coaches plan to access the fitness level of the players ahead of the resumption of the league.
Ago also disclosed that the will fight till the end of the season ” We are not giving up yet, we need to sustain our Nigeria Professional Football League status”.
“Playing in the elite of Nigeria Football League has given the club and state alot of pride and most especially the governor has given the massive support so far”.
“I can confirm to you that we are resuming on Thursday and all players are expected to be on ground on Friday for our first training session since the break”.
“We will only access the fitness level of the players then know how to plan their programs, he stated”
“The break really gave us the opportunity to strategize our programmes and also watch some couple world cup games to learn new techniques”
Yobe Desert Stars are currently 19th on the league standings.
