#EndBadGovernance Protests Persist as Thugs Attack Lagos Demonstrators
Despite President Bola Tinubu’s appeal for protesters to halt their demonstrations and engage in dialogue, the EndBadGovernanceInNigeria protests have persisted in various regions of the country.
In Lagos, tensions escalated as suspected thugs attacked protesters at Gani Fawehinmi Park in Ojota. The violence erupted after Assistant Commissioner of Police Paul Okafor, who had addressed the crowd and urged them to disperse and await government intervention, left the scene along with other security personnel.

The departure of Okafor created a divide among the protesters. Some agreed to end the protest, while others were determined to continue. A lawyer identified only as JP led a faction urging protesters to leave in accordance with President Tinubu’s earlier address.
Conversely, Adegboyega Adeniji of Peace Action Transformation led a group that refused to leave.
Amid the disagreements, individuals suspected of being thugs emerged and began forcibly dispersing the protesters.
