FCT Council polls: Umahi hides truth, deceives Igbo in Abuja
Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State on Thursday hid the truth and deceived the Igbo population in Abuja during the mega rally of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja for the council elections holding in the Federal Capital Territory on Saturday. The Ebonyi governor hid truth away from the Igbo people resident in Abuja at the APC mega rally broadcasted Live, monitored by National Daily from Lagos, telling the Igbo people that the Igbos have been voting the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) since 1999 and the PDP did not remember the Igbo people. Governor Umahi told the Igbo population ion Abuja that “it is time for the Igbo to be at the center of government.”
National Daily inquiry found that during the PDP government, the President of the Seante was occupied by the Igbo people of the southeast from 1999 to 2007. Five Igbo people served as Seante President – namely, Evans Enwerem, Dr. Chuba Okadigbo, Adulphous Wabara, Ken Nnamani and Anyim Pius Anyim. More so, an Igbo man was appointed the Inspector General of Police; another Igbo man was appointed the Chief of Army Staff; beside significant ministerial appointments. There is no record that the Igbo nation has got any such appointments under the APC government since 2015.
Governor Umahi said that the Igbo people have known something new in the competition for power in Nigeria.
Governor Hope Uzodinma also joined the APC mega rally. He told the people that APC is a national party, telling the Igbo people that all the property acquired or owned by Igbo people will be protected by the APC people.
Uzodinma encouraged the Igbo people to turnout en-mass for the Saturday election, saying that he and other from the southeast are not leaving Abuja till Sunday when the election is concluded.
