FFK: Obasanjo was right – Senator Abaribe
Abaribe spoke on Friday when he was asked for his reaction about the recent defection of Fani-Kayode from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The Senator representing Abia South Senator, Enyinnaya Abaribe has reacted to the defection of Femi Fani-Kayode to the All Progressives Congress from the Peoples Democratic Party.
According to Abaribe, former President Olusegun Obasanjo was right in his assessment of the character of former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode.
Abaribe spoke on Friday when he was asked for his reaction about the recent defection of Fani-Kayode from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Recall that we reported that Fani-Kayode on Thursday, defected to the APC and was presented to President Muhammadu Buhari at the Aso Rock Villa by the party’s caretaker committee chairman, Governor Mai Mala-Buni of Yobe State.
Many Nigerians have criticized the move, saying Fani-Kayode joined the party because of finance related matters.
Abaribe, a chieftain of the PDP when he was asked for his view during an interview with Arise TV on Friday said he wasn’t surprised about the development, desribing Fani-Kayode as a confused person.
He recalled how Chief Obasanjo had described Fani-Kayode as someone who follows where there is ‘food’ for him- meaning where his selfish desires can be met.
“I do not want to dwell on his issue. Former President Olusegun Obasanjo had said it all before. He said “Femi Fani-Kayode is my boy. Provide him food, he will eat and then sing for you. He’s a smart boy,” Abaribe said about the defection.
On the 2023 election, Abaribe expressed confidence that PDP will get the vote of Nigerians and emerge victorious as the APC has done nothing good for the country since it took over in 2015.
“No one can really pinpoint any good thing done by APC since 2015. The PDP will win the presidential election in 2023,” he said.
