Fmr. Gov. Dickson returns to National Assembly
Former Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State is on his way back to the National Assembly having won the Saturday by-election in Bayelsa State. Unlike in his first time when he was a member of the House of Representatives from where he was sponsored for the Bayelsa State Governor during the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan, Dickson will be going back to the federal legislature as a member of the senate.
The INEC had declared the former governor, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), winner of the Saturday by-election for Bayelsa West senatorial district with 115,257 votes; defeating candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), former deputy governor, Peremobowei Ebebi, who had 17,541 votes.
It was highlighted that PDP had 68,056 votes in Sagbama Local Government Area and APC 7,303 votes. PDP had 47,201 votes in Ekeremor Local Government Area, and APC 10,238 votes.
