He tendered the apology during the budget presentation which took place at the National Assembly, Abuja during which he disclosed that his government was aware of the untold hardships of Nigerians in seeking to buy petrol which has become a scarce commodity.
President Buhari vowed that government was doing everything possible. To make the product readily available nationwide, while tackling other problems associated with the oil and gas sector , both locally and internationally.
He later resented a budget estimate of N6.08 trillion to the National Assembly for the 2016 fiscal year with the education sector taking the lion share .
The last two budgets under the immediate past administration of Dr. Goodluck Jonathan were presented to the National Assembly by the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.
According to the breakdown of the budget, christened: “Budget of Change,” education gets a vote of N396 billion, health sector gets N296 billion, while defence has a vote of N294 billion.
