Group berates APC, Tinubu’s daughter, for forcing market women to join women rally in Lagos
An advocacy group, Nigeria for Good Governance (NFGG), has berated the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Tinubu’s daughter, Mrs. Tinubu Ojo, for compelling market women in Lagos to join the APC women rally for the party’s presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu in Lagos.
The group in a statement by the Chairman, Alaba Ogundele, and the Secretary, Mrs. Isaac Nnorom, asserted that it was wrong for APC through Tinubu’s daughter, Mrs. Tinubu Ojo, the Iya Oloja, the head of Market Women, to force Lagos market women to close their shops under the threat that the shops would be taken away from them if they failed to join the rally for Tinubu.
The group declared that the action was against the fundamental rights of the women, telling the APC to apologise to the market women for infringing on their rights.
The group, therefore, cautioned all parties to desist from forcing people to go against their wills in the name of mobilizing support for party candidates.
