Hammers reject Hugill, joins QPR
West Ham striker Jordan Hugill has signed for QPR on loan amid interest from a number of Championship clubs. Hugill, 27, spent last season with boyhood club Middlesbrough but failed to earn a permament move, scoring seven goals in 41 appearances.
Boss John Warburton told the club’s website: “Jordan is someone who can really lead the line. We’ve had to be patient and wait for the right forwards to come along.”
In other news, Villa won’t pay up for Burnley’s Heaton.
Aston Villa have told Burnley to lower their demands if they want to sell England goalkeeper Tom Heaton, according to the Birmingham Mail.
The 33-year-old has rejected the Clarets’ advances of a new contract, so Burnley may have to sell if they want to receive any fee for him.
For four years a mainstay between the sticks at Turf Moor, injuries and competition have restricted Heaton to just 23 Premier League appearances in the last two years.
