How people allegedly sell off their toes amidst rising cost of living (Video)
Due to excessive living costs and the government’s failure to create jobs, Zimbabweans are allegedly chopping and selling their toes for thousands of dollars.
According to reports, the larger toes cost $40,000 (N16 million naira) while the smaller toes cost $20,000. (about N8 million naira).
The toes can also be traded in for massive luxury automobiles.
Due to the rising cost of living in Zimbabwe, people are cutting off and selling their toes, according to photos and videos.
Some males have been seen straining to walk after selling their toes at the capital’s Ximex Mall, according to reports.
Barry Roux, a South African lawyer and journalist, posted a video of a man who had sold his toe and was unable to walk while showing off his new luxury car. The video was used to back up the claim.
He described himself as follows: “People in Zimbabwe have begun selling their toes for tens of thousands of dollars or huge SUVs.The government’s failure to produce jobs, as well as high living costs, is to blame. The larger toes will cost you $40,000, whereas the smaller toes will only cost you $20,000. ”
Another video attached to his tweet shows a young man handing over a car key to an elderly man whose toe was about to be amputated in exchange for the car.
A man also posted a comment, saying he is recovering from a toe amputation he had last week.
