How prof kidnapped died on release, after millions paid in ransom
A Delta State University professor kidnapped at Eku, Ethiope LGA, en route from Sapele, April 9 has died.
Prof. Ovaborhene Idamoyibo, head of music department, died Tuesday after his release, following a ransom of N3 million.
He was found unconscious by relatives who came to pick him after his abductors released him Snday night.
Idamoyibo was kidnapped by gunmen in Eku, in the Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State while returning to Abraka after a family meeting in Sapele.
He was then rushed to a private clinic for first aid treatment, but was referred to the Oghara Teaching Hospital on Monday.
The lecturer could not make it.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, confirmed the death of the professor.
