The governorship candidate of the Action Alliance, A.A., in the Imo State governorships election, Uche Nwosu, has rejected the result of the polls, vowing to challenge it at the Governorship Election Tribunal.

Nwosu faulted the result of the Imo governorship election announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, which declared the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Emeka Ihedioha winner of the governorship race.

The AA candidate protested that the result declared by the INEC is a robbery of Action Alliance, A.A., mandate, expressing his belief that the law will take its course.

INEC declared Ihedioha, former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, winner and governor-elect of Imo State with a total of 273,404 votes to defeat Uche Nwosu of the Action Alliance, AA, and Senator Hope Uzodinma of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Nwosu was sponsored in the election by Governor Rochas Okorocha, he came second with 190,364 votes; while Senator Uzodinma was third with 96,458 votes.
