Infantino: Messi needs world cup
By Boluwatife Ezekiel Olaleye
FIFA president, Gianni Infantino says Lionel Messi needs to win the World Cup to cement his greatness and expects to see him in Russia.
The talismanic forward helped Argentina to the final in 2010, but lost to Germany in extra time. He has also seen the Albiceleste lose to Chile in the final of the Copa America.
However, Messi and Argentina are at the risk of missing out of the showpiece event in Russia, needing a positive result against Ecuador to give the Albiceleste hope of qualifying.

The FIFA supremo told La Nacion: “Messi is extraordinary.
“Messi still has to win a World Cup, we have a lot of great players who did not win the World Cup.
“What made Diego so special to football for me is that he made us all fall in love with the game, of course he also won a World Cup.”
