Iran condemns U.S. strikes on nuclear sites, warns of “everlasting consequences”
Iran has strongly condemned the recent U.S. military strikes on its nuclear facilities, describing the action as provocative and a grave violation of its sovereignty.
The condemnation was delivered by Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, who warned that the attacks would carry “everlasting consequences.”

The United States on Saturday announced that it had conducted what it called a “very successful” military operation targeting three key nuclear sites in Iran. While details remain limited, the strikes mark a significant escalation in already high tensions between the two nations.
Reacting via a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, Araghchi called the strikes “outrageous” and emphasized that Iran would respond in defense of its sovereignty.
“The events this morning are outrageous and will have everlasting consequences. Iran reserves all options to defend its sovereignty, interests, and people,” Araghchi wrote.
While Iranian authorities have sought to downplay the physical impact of the strikes, they have made clear that the political and strategic ramifications will be far-reaching.
Tehran has officially requested an emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council to address what it described as an unprovoked act of aggression.
As of Saturday evening, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei had yet to issue a formal statement on the attack. However, observers suggest that Iran’s leadership is weighing a calibrated response to avoid a broader conflict while asserting national resolve.
The international community is closely monitoring the situation, amid fears of further escalation that could destabilize the region and disrupt global energy markets.
