Konga CEO, Prince Ekeh, Envisions bright future for E-commerce in Africa
Prince Nnamdi Ekeh, CEO of Konga Group, predicts a brighter future for Nigeria’s e-commerce sector despite the challenges posed by unstable exchange rates, logistical inefficiencies, and insecurity.
Prince Nnamdi Ekeh, the CEO of Africa’s leading online shopping platform, Konga Group, has expressed confidence that the e-commerce sector will experience significant growth despite current economic challenges.
Speaking at the 6th Edition of the Nigeria Sales Conference, organized by George Emetuche, CEO of Selling Champion Ltd., at the Welcome Centre Hotel in Lagos, Ekeh highlighted both the difficulties and prospects within Nigeria’s e-commerce and retail business landscape.
During his address on “The Nigeria E-Commerce and Retail Business: Challenges and Prospects,” Prince Ekeh identified key barriers to growth in Nigeria’s e-commerce sector, including an overdependence on imported goods, fluctuating exchange rates, logistical inefficiencies, corruption, and rising insecurity.
However, he emphasized that these challenges could be overcome, pointing to the country’s youthful and tech-savvy population as a driving force behind future growth and innovation.

Ekeh also called on the government to implement policies that support local businesses and foster a more inclusive and competitive e-commerce ecosystem.
He urged for a more balanced regulatory framework to ensure that stakeholders can thrive in the evolving market.
The conference concluded with Prince Ekeh receiving an award of honor for his outstanding contributions to the e-commerce industry in Nigeria.
