Lagos Assembly adopts report on royal family land claim in Eti-Osa
The Lagos State House of Assembly has adopted a committee report on a land ownership dispute involving the Igbaro Oteshade Royal Family and a parcel of land in Oko-Ado Village, Eti-Osa Local Government Area.
The decision followed deliberations on the findings of the House committee tasked with reviewing competing claims over the contested land, which has been the subject of prolonged disagreement between the royal family and other interests linked to the area.
Lawmakers adopted the report during plenary, effectively endorsing the committee’s recommendations on the matter. However, full details of the resolution were not immediately made public at the time of filing this report.
Land disputes involving traditional families and community stakeholders are common in Lagos State, particularly in rapidly developing areas such as Eti-Osa, where rising demand for real estate has intensified ownership conflicts.
The Assembly’s decision is expected to guide further administrative and legal steps toward resolving the dispute, although parties affected by the ruling may still pursue additional legal remedies where necessary.
Authorities have not yet issued further clarification on enforcement or implementation timelines following the adoption of the report.
