The Chairman, Olorunda Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Lagos State, Samson Olatunde, has distributed 350 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) forms to indigent students within the council.
The Press Secretary to the chairman, Abful-Wahab Adeosun, in a statement on Tuesday cited Olatunde as saying that the initiative was aimed at ensuring that financial constraints did not hinder deserving students from accessing higher education.
He emphasised the importance of education in shaping the future and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting students in the council.
“No student should be denied access to education because of financial challenges.
“This is part of our broader effort to make education more accessible to all,” he said.
Olatunde further said that education remained a crucial tool for societal progress, stressing that his administration remained determined to support students in achieving their academic aspirations.
Olatunde said the distribution of the JAMB forms aligned with Olorunda LCDA’s broader education-focused initiatives aimed at fostering academic excellence and creating opportunities for the youth.
According to him, this move reinforces the council’s proactive approach in addressing educational barriers and ensuring that indigent students have the necessary support to excel.
