LASIEC release nomination forms to Lagos LP ahead of Council election
The Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) has eventually released the nomination forms of Labour Party candidates for the July 12, 2025 Local Government Elections to the Pastor Dayo Ekong led LP state executives.
National Daily had reported on Wednesday that Pastor Dayo Ekong led LP executives besieged LASIEC, demanding the release of nomination forms to the party.
Pastor Ekong insisted that the refusal of LASIEC to release the forms will distrupt the July 12 council poll, as she declared that there are no factions in the party contrary to the claims of the commission’s chairman Rtd. Justice Bola Okikiolu-Ighile.

The Lagos LP Chairman Dayo Ekong maintained that only her exco remain the valid LP in Lagos going by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) records.

The forms was later released to Pastor Dayo Ekong led exco thus paving way for the party flagbearers to contest the chairmanship and councillorship seats in the Local Governments and LCDAs across the state.
Ekong having been handed the forms said,“ I want to say congratulations to you candidates, that the devil did not shame us and there is no doubt in my mind that we are prepared for this election.”
