Man bags eight months jail term for hiding information from EFCC
A 24-year-old man, Akeredolu Oluwafemi Temidayo, has been sentenced to eight months in prison for hiding vital information from operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibadan zonal office, during interrogation.
EFCC in a statement said Akeredolu (aka Susan Henderson) had received a landed property from one Rose Kirkley, an American citizen, pretending to be a nurse with a special skill to treat the Ebola virus.
He, however, refused to disclose the possession of the said property when he was being interrogated by EFCC operatives.
Justice Joyce Abdulmalik of the Federal High Court, Ibadan, Oyo State declared him guilty of failure to comply with the lawful enquiry as he refused to “disclose receipts of properties obtained under false pretences” on Friday and sentenced him to eight months in prison.
