Man puts himself up for sale, rejects N10m, N5m offers
Aliyu Na Idris has rejected varying sums potential buyers offered him as he moved from one state to another looking for who will buy him.
The asking price for the 26-year-old is N20 million, according to a placard he is carrying about in Kano for about a week.
“Even though many people have offered me various prices of N10m, N5m and N300,000 in Kano, I refused because the amount is less than what I expected,” he told the Daily Trust.
His family back in Kaduna is aware that he is offering himself up for sale in Kano. He may move to another state if he can get a worthy buyer.
According to him, his tailoring business fell into hard times, and now all he wants is to survive.
He explained how he will spend the N20 million when he gets a willing buyer.
“I will give my parents N10m; I will give N5m as tax to the state where I was bought, the person who helped in advertising me will be rewarded with N2m while the remaining N3m will be kept for me under the care of the person who buys me for my daily upkeep,” he said.
Idris is going into slavery with his eyes open. He said his freedom is not important to him.
