Many trapped as four-storey building under construction collapses

Many people were said to be trapped as a four-storey building collapsed along Aka Road in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State on Saturday.

Witnesses said many people were stuck in the building, said to be under construction when it collapsed around 7:30 pm on Saturday.

All critical rescue and security agencies were on ground and four people have been rescued and taken to the Hospital.

According to residents living close to the collapsed building, the edifice was built with substandard materials.

Large number of people have gathered at the scene of the incident discussing the matter among themselves.
