Military clash with Boko Haram in Shirawa, rescue 455 hostages

National Daily reliably gathered that troops of Operation LAFIYA DOLE has destroyed a suspected hideouts of the remnants of Boko Haram in Shirawa were their logistics base is located.
The base was bombed on Tuesday morning by troops of 112 Task Force Battalion of the 22 Task Force Brigade.
They set free 455 persons held hostage by the terrorists.
During the major offensive against suspected hideouts of Boko Haram terrorists, National Daily learnt, Artano, Saduguma, Duve, Bordo, Kala, Bok, Magan, Misherde, Ahisari, Gilgil, Mika, Hiwa, Kutila and Shirawa settlements in Kala Balge Local Government Area of Borno State were decimated.
It was learnt that at Kutila village, the troops came under heavy attack from the terrorists but killed so many of them and recovered several weapons while a large number of them escaped with bullet wounds.
Items recovered include one Gun truck, one Canter vehicle and one pick up from the terrorists.
However, the Director Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Sani Kukasheka Usman, hinted in Abuja that the troops also encountered Boko Haram terrorists at Shirawa who withdrew in disarray when they could not withstand the firepower of the troops and abandoned the newly constructed Logistics Base.
They recovered two newly prepared suicide bombing vests and maize grinding machine before they proceeded to clear Bok, Misherde, Mika and Kutila also in Kala Balge Local Government Area of Borno State, where they liberated 455 persons held hostages by the terrorists.
The rescued persons have been screened and moved to Rann Internally Displaced Persons camp for medical attention.
