Mixed reactions trail Keyamo post, as he shares alleged Financial Times publication showing Lagos development between 1984 & 2013

Reactions have begun trailing a recent social media post made by All Progressives Congress (APC) Campaign Council Spokesman, and Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo, showing an alleged publication from an international media outlet, The Financial Times.

Taking to his Twitter handle a few hours ago, Keyamo shared the heatmap from the Financial Times comparing the rate of development in Lagos between 1984 and 2013.

While the heat map of 1984 showed sparsely developed sections of the state, that of 2013, however, showed large expanse of areas that had been developed and occupied by residents in the state.

In his tweet, Keyamo slammed those arguing that the APC presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu had little or no impact on the infrastructural development of Lagos during his tenure as governor of the state between 1999 to 2007.

“For the doubting Thomases, here’s the heat map of the development of Lagos before the revolution of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as reported by the Financial Times of London,” he wrote.

Quite interestingly, Keyamo’s tweet has generated a host of reactions from Nigerians online as many of them trooped to the comments section to air their opinions.

While a few persons agreed with the description of the map, others, however, disagreed with Keyamo’s claim that the map depicted infrastructural development, insisting that it only showed steady population growth in an urban city and nothing more.
