National Assembly grounded by workers’ indefinite strike
The National Assembly was on Monday shutdown as the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN) and National Assembly Service Commission (NASC) embark on an indefinite strike. The federal legislature workers are demanding the implementation of a subsisting memorandum of understanding for payment of all arrears and other conditions of service jointly signed by National Assembly Service Commission, the National Assembly management, and the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria on April 12, 2021.
Members of the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN) and National Assembly Service Commission (NASC), commencing the striking workers on Monday, occupied the entrance of the National Assembly complex, obstructing passage of the lawmakers and other staff into the complex from gaining access.
