NAWE congratulates Senate Pres. Akpabio, SGF, Kaduna, Katsina Governors

The National Association of Women Entrepreneurs (NAWE), have congratulated the brand new Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, (SGF), Sen. George Akume, the Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani and the Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda.

The women group also congratulated the Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin; Speaker, House of Representatives, Rt Hon. Tajudeen Abbas and Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, Hon Benjamin Kalu.

Speaking in a statement signed by the President of NAWE, Barr. Vera Ndanusa, the women’s group appealed to the politicians to use their offices to chart a new cause for the Nigerian women, especially the sexually abused girl child and the abused married women who suffer deprivation in the hands of their husbands.

Ndanusa charged them to develop policies that will empower women in the area of skill acquisition and Small Medium Enterprise (SME), adding that such efforts will help mitigate the sufferings of women in the country.

She noted with pride the power and influence of a woman in the society especially in her efforts to keep the home front together, saying that with the right women friendly policies the Nigerian woman will excel with colours and provide the needed support to her home and the country at large.

Ndanusa recalled one of her meetings with Governor Radda of Katsina State before he became governor, listing how he helped to incorporate NAWE women into the Micro Finance Bank in the 36 States of the Federation.

Similar unforgettable gestures she narrated about the SGF Akume, and the Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, hoping that the bond will continue and translate into more women empowerment programmes.

According to her: “On behalf of the NAWE women, I congratulate all political office holders in the new dispensation. In all,democracy has prevailed and Nigeria won”, Ndanusa said.
