Olatunji Disu officially assumed duty as the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Commissioner of Police on Monday, pledging to tackle security challenges in the nation’s capital with a zero-tolerance approach to crime.
Disu, aware of the ongoing security concerns, promised to build upon the efforts of his predecessors to enhance peace and safety within the FCT.

The new CP emphasized that his tenure would prioritize collaboration with community leaders, local organizations, and stakeholders to foster trust and address security concerns.
He called for public feedback to help refine policing strategies and reinforce the safety of FCT residents.
Additionally, Disu announced plans to leverage technology to boost the command’s policing efforts. “We will utilise tools such as data analytics and surveillance systems to enhance operational efficiency and intelligence-gathering capabilities, ensuring swift response to potential threats,” he said.
Disu’s appointment comes at a critical time, with expectations for improved security coordination in the capital amid growing concerns over crime and safety.
