Nigeria gets 2026 Toyota RAV4 as Toyota-By-CFAO sets Lagos launch date
Toyota-By-CFAO Nigeria has officially launched the all-new 2026 Toyota RAV4 in the Nigerian market, introducing the latest generation of the globally popular SUV with immediate availability across its nationwide showrooms.
The rollout marks a major milestone for Nigeria’s automotive sector, as customers are now receiving the current-generation RAV4 simultaneously with global markets — a shift from the long-standing trend of delayed access or reliance on older imported models.
First customer deliveries have already begun across Toyota-By-CFAO dealerships in Lagos, Abuja, and Port Harcourt, with strong pre-launch demand recorded ahead of the official public unveiling.
A public launch event is scheduled for June 11, 2026, at the Victoria Island showroom in Lagos, where customers will have access to test drives and on-site vehicle ordering.
Toyota-By-CFAO Nigeria operates under the CFAO Group as an authorised distributor of the Toyota Tsusho Corporation, strengthening Toyota’s official presence in the Nigerian market.
Managing Director of Toyota-By-CFAO Nigeria, Boye Ajayi, said the introduction of the 2026 RAV4 signals a new standard for Nigerian vehicle buyers, who will now receive global-spec models without delay.
“The 2026 RAV4 is here. Nigerian customers are no longer waiting years behind global markets or settling for older specifications,” Ajayi said. “They are receiving the same vehicle available internationally — at the same time, with full manufacturer support.”

He added that the company’s goal is to eliminate the gap between global automotive releases and Nigerian market availability, supported by manufacturer-backed warranties and structured after-sales service.
Industry observers say the launch represents a shift in Nigeria’s automotive landscape, where buyers have traditionally depended on grey imports or older-generation vehicles due to limited access to brand-new models.
According to Toyota-By-CFAO, the new RAV4 bridges that gap by combining global-spec availability with a three-year manufacturer’s warranty, certified technicians, and genuine parts distribution across its service network.
The vehicle is already available in three variants — Active, Comfort, and Limited — all powered by a 2.0-litre engine delivering 172 horsepower, with multiple drive modes designed for urban and intercity driving conditions common in Nigeria.
The 2026 RAV4 comes equipped with a wide range of features including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, LED headlamps, push-button start, keyless entry, rear-view camera, dual-zone air conditioning, and an electric parking brake.
Safety systems include Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), hill-start assist, and multiple airbags across all variants.
Toyota-By-CFAO said the model is designed to balance comfort, safety, and durability, with features tailored to both city driving and longer intercity travel.
The SUV is backed by a three-year manufacturer’s warranty covering parts and labour, delivered through Toyota-certified technicians.
Toyota-By-CFAO also confirmed ongoing expansion of its service infrastructure, with facilities in Lagos, Abuja, and Port Harcourt, and plans to expand to 75 authorised service points nationwide by March 2027.
Managing Director Boye Ajayi said the long-term ownership experience is a key differentiator.
“The question is not just about purchase price, but what ownership looks like over time,” he said.
The company disclosed that dozens of customers placed orders before the official public unveiling, signalling strong market interest in the latest model.
Early buyers, according to the company, are responding to the availability of globally current specifications supported by structured after-sales service — a factor that has historically been limited in Nigeria’s new vehicle market.
