Nigeria Police arrest Cameroon Ambazonian separatist commander in Taraba
The Nigeria Police have arrested the Cameroon Ambazonia separatist commander in the border zones of Taraba State. the Ambazonia leader, known as General Bazil, has been tormenting communities on the borders of the Republic of Cameroon over the years.
The Commissioner of Police in Taraba State, Abimbola Sokoya, at a press conference in Jalingo, where he was political party leaders on the need for violence-free polls in the state, disclosed the arrest of the Ambazonia leader, known as General Bazil, after the police received intelligence on his nefarious activities.
CP Sokoya had stated: “It is a fact that the Commander of Ambazonia separatist warlords was arrested here in Nigeria.
“The antecedent was that he will commit a crime here in Nigeria, he will run to Cameroon, commit a crime in Cameroon and run down to Nigeria. “Eventually, through the help of our community there, we were able to arrest him and i give you the assurance that he will be prosecuted.”
The five local government areas which include Sardauna, Gashaka, Kurmi, Ussa and Takum on the borders of the Republic of Cameroon, have been under frequent attacks by the Ambazonian separatist fighters in Cameroon over the years.
The CP maintained that the Cameroonian Ambazonian separatist leader is in the police custody, adding that investigation has been commenced for the arrest other gang members.
The Cameroonian Ambazonian separatist leader was arrested in Kurmi Local Government Area, Taraba State, northeast Nigeria.
Meanwhile, other Ambazonian separatist fighters are threatening to burn the border community of the rebel leader is not released immediately.
