The Nigeria Police Force has officially declared two individuals — Olabode Bello and Michael Chigozie — wanted for allegedly violating the Same Sex Marriage (Prohibition) Act, 2013, a federal law that prescribes a penalty of up to 14 years imprisonment for convicted offenders.

According to a statement issued by the police, the suspects were initially arrested on December 12, 2024, in Lagos State and were subsequently granted bail on January 15, 2025.

The bail came with strict conditions, including a mandatory requirement for weekly reporting to law enforcement authorities, pending their formal arraignment.
