Nigerian workers demand palliatives over rising cost of living
Workers in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) are beginning to demand for palliatives to enable them meet up with the rising cost of living in the country. The workers urged the Federal Government to support them with palliatives to cushion the effect of rising cost of living.
Many workers in Abuja on Thursday noted that the demand has become necessary as workers could no longer meet their needs with their present earnings.
While calling for discussion around review of the minimum wage, they urged government to in the meantime introduce palliatives.
In some other countries of the world, including African countries, workers and other citizens have gone on mass protest of the hyper inflation.
Meanwhile, Nigerian workers are making their demands in peaceful ways, lamenting that the situation in the country is becoming hard and difficult to survive. The workers bemoaned that the reality is staring them in the face and most of them can no longer meet up with their responsibilities at home.
The workers, therefore, declared that there has to be an urgent measure to bring succour to people before talking of long term plans that may include review of the minimum wage.
