They were said to be operating in Tureta and Dange/Shuni Local Government Areas in Southern Senatorial District of Sokoto State.
The two food suppliers were also said to have admitted supplying food to bandits, as well as providing information to the bandits to facilitate their operations. Seven suspects also confessed their involvement in cattle rustling in Rabba and Wurno Local Government Areas.
The NSCDC State Commandant, Muhammad Saleh-Dada, parading the bandits and others, said they were arrested with the assistance of the vigilante group in Wurno Local Government Area, Sokoto State.
The Commandant lamented that the seven cattle rustlers have been tormenting residents of Rabba and Wurno local councils. He disclosed that they were arrested with over 40 cows. He said the cattle recovered from them are in the custody of security officials.
Some of the arrested bandits had confessed they were recruited by some bandits’ commanders and paid N10,000 for their operations.
