Obi laments death of 5 bikers in Cross River
The presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 elections, Peter Obi, on Wednesday, lamented the unfortunate incident at the annual Calabar Carnival on Tuesday where five persons were killed and others injured, which he said, was “a huge loss to the immediate and extended families of the victims, the government and people of Cross River State and Nigerians in general”.
Obi declared, “I am saddened by the loss of lives, many injuries recorded.”
He commiserated with victims of the tragedy that left at least five dead and several others injured on Tuesday when A car had rammed into a crowd participating in a bikers parade in Calabar, Cross River State, killing some participants and injuring others.
Obi in a tweet on his twitter handle on Wednesday evening wrote: Peter Obi @PeterObi “The unfortunate incident at the annual Calabar Carnival is a huge loss to the immediate and extended families of the victims, the government and people of Cross River State and Nigerians in general. I am saddened by the loss of lives, many injuries recorded.
“I sincerely commiserate with the families who lost their loved ones in this ugly incident, and pray for the quick recovery of the injured. May God grant eternal rest to the dead.”
