Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on Thursday appointed a committee to facilitate discussions between the Delta State Government and the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) on the implementation of the new minimum wage for workers in the state.
The Commissioner for Information, Dr. Ifeanyi Osuoza, at a press briefing after an Executive Council meeting at the Government House, Asaba, disclosed that Governor Oborevwori has directed the Commissioner for Agriculture and the Chief Job Creation Officer to develop programs aimed at mitigating the impact of the current economic hardships.
“These initiatives are expected to provide significant benefits to the youth across the state,” Osuoza stated.
The commissioner reassured of the commitment of the Delta State Government to minimize the effects of the current economic challenges in the country on residents of the state.
