Ondo 2024: PDP appoints Makinde, others for guber campaign council
The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has inaugurated the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde and others as its National Campaign Council for the November 16, 2024, Ondo State Governorship Election.
The council also had Lawmaker representing Ibadan Northwest/Ibadan Southwest Federal constituency, Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Olajide (Odidiomo), Amb.Taofeek Arapaja, Alhaja Mutiat Ladoja, Dr. Saka Balogun, O’Shine, Sen. Ayoola Agboola Alleluyah, Otunba Seye Famojuro as members.
According to the party, “The inauguration of the campaign council is a strategic move by the party to ensure victory in the upcoming gubernatorial election.
“The party’s National Working Committee (NWC) approved the inauguration, which took place at the NEC Hall, PDP National Secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Wuse Zone 5, Abuja.”
“While the council comprises experienced politicians and stakeholders from Oyo State, the PDP has expressed its commitment to winning the Ondo State governorship election, scheduled for November 16, 2024.”
“The party’s National Chairman, Umar Damagum, also denounced statements credited to President Bola Tinubu, indicating that the APC would take Edo and Ondo States stating that with experienced politicians and stakeholders on board, the PDP is better positioned to take over the state’s governance come November 16, 2024.”

“The campaign council’s primary objectives among other terms of reference include, promoting the party’s candidate, Agboola Ajayi, engaging stakeholders and party members in the campaign process, developing strategies to counter opposition parties and ensuring victory for the PDP in the Ondo State governorship election.”
“The inauguration of the PDP’s National Campaign Council for the Ondo State Governorship Election marks a significant milestone in the party’s journey towards victory.” – the party noted.
