Panel orders arrest of former Abia Accountant General
Justice Florence Duruoha-Igwe has ordered for the immediate arrest of the former Accountant General of Abia State, Mr. Kelechi Imeoria.
The Panel Chairman of Abia State Judicial Panel of Inquiry on Recovery of Government Properties.
The order, reports said, was due to his refusal to appear before the panel and failure to produce a black Toyota bequeathed to him by the immediate -past government of Okezie Ikpeazu.
Justice Duruoha-Igwe on Friday during sitting of the panel said that Mr. Imeoria, by failing to honour the invitation and not earlier informing the panel of any unavoidable impediment, had disrespected and disobeyed the law hence, should be arrested and brought before the panel alongside the black Toyota jeep in his possession come February 9, 2024, when the panel will have its next sitting.

The law is a tool of the society and must be respected.
She said, “there was no reason or exemption letter from Mr. Imeoria or his council, Mrs. Esther Nwosu, stating that they would not be able to appear before the panel.
“His last appearance before the panel was on 26th of January, 2024,” the Justice submitted.
