The five governors of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the PDP G5, agitating for the resignation of PDP national chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, and appointment of a southern national chairman, on Saturday, began for state and national assembly elections in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, leader of the G5, invited his other four allies – governors Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Samuel Ortom of Benue State, Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State, and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State for the flag off of the PDP campaign for the 2023 general elections at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt.
The campaign was for the governorship, senate and house of representatives of the National Assembly and State Assembly and Governorship seats. The presidential candidate was excluded as the G5 had earlier pulled out of the PDP presidential campaign council.
