Peter Obi makes special request at Lord’s Chosen
By Sunday Odibashi
The presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) for the 2023 general elections, Peter Obi, at the global crusade of The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministry in Lagos, made a special request before the congregation of prayers for Nigeria and Nigerian politicians.
Obi who arrived the auditorium at 12.17pm last Sunday, in a brief speech of about two minutes, acquainted the congregation that he has been a member of the Lord’s Chosen for many years. He requested the congregation to pray for the peace of Nigeria, as well as the conduct of politicians in the country. “Please pray for Nigeria. pray for those of us that are politicians that we will use the public money for the people,” Obi had said.
Contrary to the expectations of the congregation who were excited on sighting him, Obi was silent on his presidential ambition, neither did he say anything about the 2023 presidential election.
However, his presence was highly sensitive to the people. After he had taken his seat, many members were moving around asking others, “do you have PVC?”
Meanwhile, the programme presided by Pastor Lazarus Muoka, had over 20 million people across Nigeria, including neighbouring West African countries in attendance; beside others following online across the world. The main auditorium was filled to capacity, and those outside were even more than those in the auditorium. The crowd was so massive that people could no longer find chairs to sit. Many had to stand, while several others sat on the ground in the open space. And God was so benevolent that the sun was not harsh but mild through the day.
