Prophetess Rebecca Tani Inuwa, a cleric, has urged Nigerians, regardless of their religion, tribe, and ethnic group to show love to one another for the unity and development of the country.

Inuwa, who is the General Overseer, Light of God Covenant and Prophetic Assembly, Kaduna gave the advice in an interview in Kaduna on Wednesday, as part of activities to mark the church’s fourth anniversary/National Covention tagged, Rehoboth Convention.

The convention, which is a three-day event has the theme, “Open Doors for Supernatural Turnaround,’’ and would hold from Wednesday, Sept. 1 to Sept. 3, 2021 in Kaduna.

The cleric said that close collaboration between the various peoples of Nigeria would not only promote cohesion and cordial relations, it would help bring to an end the myriad of socio-political and economic problems limiting the development of the country.

She said: “Muslims and Christians should live together without sentiments and as brothers and sisters, in love and unity.

“Unless this is achieved, the country would continue to struggle with societal stability.

“That is what will ease the problems that we are experiencing in the country today.’’

She said urged adherents of both Islam and Christianity to join hands with one another and pray for peace and security in Nigeria.

According to her, the 3-day convention of the church is timely, as the church will seek the intervention of God through prayers and other activities for peace, stability, and supernatural turnaround of the fortunes of Nigeria.

“I believe this is what God is about to do for Nigeria.

“He has seen that this is the time for Him to intervene in Nigeria’s situation so that things will begin to work for the better,’’ she added.

She urged religious leaders to refrain from making unguarded statements, especially those capable of abusing the sensibilities of others and pitting one group against another.

Inuwa further urged religious leaders to always preach peace as they “have a greater role to play in promoting peaceful coexistence among Nigerians and discouraging them from carrying out reprisal attacks in the quest for vengeance.’’

She advised the Nigerian elite to take all necessary steps required to bring to an end insurgency, kidnapping, and banditry, among other related activities in the country.

“Leaders in this country can do this. They know this country very well and they know what needs to be done to stop the killing of innocent lives.

“Nigerian leaders should make conscious efforts to reduce crime to the barest minimum by creating employment opportunities for young people.

“This will go a long way toward reducing criminal activities in the country,’ she said.
