Rashford Ruled Out for Season as Aston Villa Push for Top Five Finish
Aston Villa’s push for a top-five Premier League finish has taken a hit with news that on-loan forward Marcus Rashford has been ruled out for the remainder of the season due to injury.
Rashford, who joined Villa on loan from Manchester United earlier this year, has been instrumental in the club’s attacking play since his arrival. The 26-year-old registered crucial goals and assists that helped keep Villa in contention for European qualification.
However, a statement from the club confirmed that Rashford sustained a muscular injury during training last week and will not recover in time to feature again this season.
“Marcus has been a valuable part of our squad and we’re disappointed to lose him at such a crucial stage,” Villa head coach Unai Emery said. “We wish him a full and speedy recovery.”

Despite the setback, Aston Villa remain firmly in the hunt for a top-five finish, currently sitting sixth in the Premier League table with just a few matches remaining. The club will now look to other key players to step up as they face a tough run-in.
Rashford is expected to return to Manchester United at the end of the season, though Villa are reportedly interested in exploring a permanent deal depending on his recovery and form.
