The Minister of Sports Development, John Enoh, has issued a stern warning against age cheating at the ongoing National Youth Games (NYG).
He emphasized that only athletes aged 15 years and below are eligible to participate in the competition.
In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media, Diana-Mary Nsan, the minister stressed the importance of upholding the integrity of the games and urged all participating states to adhere strictly to the age requirements.
“We are committed to providing a fair and transparent platform for young athletes to showcase their talents,” he stated.

Enoh further called on spectators and fans to support their young athletes and embrace the spirit of fair play and sportsmanship throughout the competition.
The minister officially declared the National Youth Games (NYG) open on Thursday at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba, Delta State, where this year’s event is being held.
He reiterated his warning against age cheating, stating that any violations of the rule would not be tolerated.
