Sule Lamido accuses APC, Tinubu of deepening hardship in Nigeria
Former Jigawa State Governor and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Sule Lamido, has accused the federal government and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of worsening the suffering of Nigerians through what he described as deceptive governance.
Speaking during an expanded PDP caucus meeting in Dutse, Lamido alleged that the APC, under the leadership of former President Muhammadu Buhari and current President Bola Tinubu, has betrayed Nigerians, leaving the country in economic distress.
According to him, the ruling party’s much-touted anti-corruption crusade is a façade aimed at enriching its members rather than serving the nation.
“Since Buhari and now Tinubu, Nigerians are suffering. Poverty is everywhere, youths are jobless, and the economy is collapsing,” Lamido declared.

He added that while APC leaders claim to be fighting for Nigeria, their actions reveal a self-serving agenda. “They say they are fighting for Nigeria, but in reality, they only fight for themselves and their pockets,” he said.
The former governor, who traced his political activism back to the 1970s, stressed that he has dedicated his life to the struggle for democracy and the welfare of ordinary Nigerians. He lamented that the current administration, like its predecessor, has failed to deliver meaningful relief to the people.
“Tinubu’s government, just like Buhari’s, has failed Nigerians. Instead of relief, there is corruption, hardship, and arrogance of power,” Lamido stated, urging Nigerians to hold the APC accountable for the deepening poverty and instability in the country.
The remarks come at a time when Nigerians are grappling with high inflation, unemployment, and rising living costs, which many critics attribute to recent government policies and economic reforms.
