Suspected drunk driver rams into soldiers during training in Lagos, many feared dead
A tragic incident occurred in the early hours of Friday near Myoung Barracks in Lagos when a vehicle, allegedly driven by a suspected drunk driver, plowed into a unit of soldiers undergoing their routine morning physical training.
The devastating accident has sent shockwaves through the military community, with many anxiously awaiting updates about their loved ones. While the exact number of casualties remains uncertain, eyewitness accounts suggest that several soldiers may have lost their lives in the incident.
A soldier who narrowly escaped the crash described the horrific scene, stating, “There’s blood everywhere. I was spared because I was at the back.”

According to sources at the scene, the vehicle had three young male occupants suspected to be internet fraudsters, commonly referred to as ‘Yahoo Boys.’
After the collision, one of the occupants reportedly fled the scene, while the other two were caught by an enraged crowd and beaten severely. Their vehicle was also vandalized in the aftermath of the accident.
Authorities have yet to release an official statement regarding the incident, and investigations are ongoing to determine the full extent of the casualties and the circumstances leading to the crash.
