Tems dismisses rumours of romantic interest in Maduka Okoye
Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has dismissed rumours linking her romantically with Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye.
Speaking during an interview at the BET Awards over the weekend, the singer said she has no romantic interest in the footballer, adding that she does not pursue relationships with fellow Nigerian celebrities.

Tems explained that she regards most Nigerian celebrities, particularly her male colleagues, as family and has no intention of “shooting her shot” at Okoye.
“I know who Maduka Okoye is, but I don’t know him personally. I wish I did, though. But shooting my shot at him? We don’t do that over here. We [Nigerian celebrities] are friends with each other and we are family. I see my male colleagues as brothers,” she said.
Her comments come amid speculation on social media suggesting she had an interest in the Super Eagles goalkeeper, a claim she has now firmly denied.
