Victor Osimhen becomes most expensive signing in Turkish football history
Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen has shattered transfer records to become the most expensive footballer in the history of Turkish football, following his permanent move to Galatasaray.
The 26-year-old was officially unveiled on Wednesday night at the Nef Stadium in Istanbul, where thousands of jubilant Galatasaray supporters gathered to welcome their new star signing.
Osimhen, who spent last season on loan from Italian side Napoli, has now committed his future to the Turkish Super Lig champions after Galatasaray activated his €75 million release clause — a figure that eclipses all previous transfer fees paid by Turkish clubs.

This landmark deal makes Osimhen not only Galatasaray’s biggest-ever signing but also the highest-valued player to feature in the Turkish league, far surpassing the previous record held by Moroccan striker Youssef En-Nesyri, who joined Fenerbahce for €19.5 million.
Rounding out the top five biggest transfers in Turkish football are Gabriel Sara (€18 million), Mario Jardel (€17 million), and Nicolo Zaniolo (€15 million) — all former Galatasaray players, further highlighting the club’s dominance in attracting top talent.
Osimhen’s arrival is seen as a massive statement of intent by Galatasaray as they prepare for both domestic and European campaigns. The Nigerian international is expected to lead the line and bring his goal-scoring prowess to a side aiming to build on their recent successes.
